Thor is a 2011 American superhero film based on the comic book character of the same name published by Marvel Comics and is the fourth film released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was released on April 21, 2011 in Australia and is scheduled for release on May 6, 2011 in the United States. Thor will be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D. Thor is directed by Kenneth Branagh. Branagh is known for his film adaptations of William Shakespeare. The movie starring famous actor and actress including Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Colm Feore, Ray Stevenson, Idris Elba, Kat Dennings, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins.
The movie tells the story of Thor, son of Odin who was banished to the Earth for going against his orders and inciting war with the frost giants, removes his powers and takes Mjolnir from him and renders it unliftable by Thor, as it can only be wielded by a worthy warrior. In Earth, Thor met with Jane Foster who will be his love-interest and Erik Selvig, both of them were from S.H.I.E.L.D..
In Asgard, somehow Odin has fallen into a trance like sleep, making Loki the temporary king. Loki plots to permanently take over, and teleports to Earth and tells Thor that Odin is dead instead of just sleeping. Loki then plotted to kill Thor so he will be able to become the full king.

Thor sudah rilis di Australia pada 21 April 2011, dan direncanakan akah rilis 6 Mei 2011 di US. Film Thor ini akan hadir dalam dua format yaitu 2D dan 3D. Thor disutradarai oleh Kenneth Branagh yang juga dikenal dengan film-film adaptasinya dari Willian Shakespeare.

Thor bercerita tentang Thor, anak dari Odin yang dihukum ke bumi karena menentang perintah ayahnya, Odin. Namun, ternyata saudara Thor, Loki, berniat jahat dan menginginkan kekuasan sebagai raja menggantikan ayahnya.
Thor yang berada di Bumi lalu berusaha untuk kembali lagi ke Asgard (dunia tempat para dewa tinggal.) dan membereskan semuanya.
